Cataracts occur when the eye’s lens clouds or darkens. It is a common age-related complaint. Symptoms include clouded, blurred, or dim vision; difficulty seeing at night; sensitivity to light; frequently changing the strength of vision prescriptions; and seeing colours faded or yellowed. While the only treatment to completely remove cataracts is eye surgery, preventatives include nutritional therapy, homoeopathy, reducing ultraviolet exposure and non-smoking.
