Chickenpox is a contagious disease caused by the herpes varicella zoster virus. Most commonly, it strikes during childhood but, if one is not vaccinated or has previously not contracted, Chickenpox can occur in adulthood. Symptoms include a high fever, a blistering bodily rash, a runny nose, itching, coughing, and abdominal pain. Treatment for chickenpox includes medication, calamine lotion, homoeopathy, herbal remedies, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and acupressure.
