The Buteyko Technique is a method of breathing retraining, designed to restore normal breathing rate and depth.
Just as there are accepted norms for temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate etc., so there is an accepted norm for breathing.

The program is based on addressing the cause of the problem, rather than treating the symptoms. It is taught in five consecutive sessions of two hours each, followed by 12 months of free-of-charge access to refresher courses and contact with the practitioner for advice on health issues.
After 15 years of negative response from the medical profession, the Buteyko Technique has now been recognised and accepted as a safe, non-invasive and effective way to manage a wide range of chronic disorders.
