The Alexander Technique is an effective method of retraining the mind and body for the purpose of improved movement, coordination and balance. It educates the individual which returns improved motion. What’s known as the Kinaesthetic Sense, is taught through observation of one’s own mannerisms whilst in action, and by training the body’s own sense of location and effort.
Any kind of body movement or motion can be made more efficient by practising the Alexander Technique.
Performing Arts such as drama, music, circus performers as well as Olympians commonly use the Alexander Technique.
The teacher guides motion with hands-on modelling, whilst communicating subtle cues of timing, coaching and direction.
The effectiveness of the Alexander Technique is largely dependent on the frequency of tuition and practice. The student must have the desire to learn the new techniques and let go of old habits.
