Vulvodynia is a term used to describe pain in the vulva which is often severe and of an unknown cause. The pain may be burning, stinging, irritating or raw feeling. Vulvodynia may involve factors such as frequent thrush, frequent use of antibiotics, chemical irritation, rashes, genital warts, nerve irritation or muscle spasms. Treatment options include medication, laser therapy, physical therapy, biofeedback, homoeopathy, and acupuncture.
