Hypocalcaemia is characterized by an excessive level of calcium in the blood. The condition may lead to muscular spasms in the hands, feet or throat, depression, numbness and tingling in the hands, feet, or around the mouth, seizures, and disturbed heart rhythm. Hypocalcaemia is treated with calcium, vitamin D supplements, and medication.
