Hypercalcaemia is characterized by an excessive amount of calcium in the blood. The condition may lead to abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, constipation, loss of appetite, increased thirst, urination, tiredness and weakness. Symptoms such as weight loss, depression, dehydration, bone fractures, or kidney stones are also identified in patients with hypercalcaemia. Hypercalcaemia may be treated with intravenous medication, surgery, liquid substitutes, and supportive care.
