Constipation arises when bowel movements become incomplete, irregular or infrequent. While it is an everyday setback, constipation is easy to treat. Increasing fibre intake, hydration and laxatives usually cure this problem, as does physical activity and listening more closely to the body’s signals. Complementary treatments of the herbal and homeopathic variety can help, as can Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
