Many Ask. What Can Be Treated With Homeopathy?
Homeopathy can treat most disorders that you would go to the doctor for.
Homeopathy treats chronic, long standing, illnesses for example allergies; menstrual / hormonal; arthritis; eczema; asthma and other female and male health concerns. Also acute or short term problems like coughs, colds & flu’ etc. are brought to a halt or reduced very quickly.
Homeopathy often goes much deeper than other modalities by treating the mental and emotional disturbances that are often associated with disease. This can include phobias; anxieties; depression and behavioural problems in children.
What Does The Consultation Involve?
Homeopathy treats the person as an individual rather than a disease label. An in-depth consultation, for a chronic complaint may take up to two hours. Less time is required for an acute disorder, usually no more than three quarters of an hour.
In order for us to find your specific remedy we will need to know what makes you unique and how your illness affects you. We will cover many areas, medical history of you and your family, your likes and dislikes a¬nd your reactions to stress. Never be afraid of mentioning what seem like unrelated symptoms, often these lead us to your specific remedy.
What you tell us is strictly confidential and we are very professional in all that we do. This you can be assured of. We will need to know what other medicines you have been prescribed. As your health improves you may be able to reduce your medications but this will only be done in consultation with your doctor.
What Will The Treatment Be Like?
After the consultation the homeopath will find your unique remedy. This clinic usually dispenses the remedy either as a liquid or tablet to be dissolved under the tongue. Often it is sufficient to give only one dose to stimulate your body’s own healing power and start the process of recovery over the next few weeks or months. You will be given instructions of when and how to take the remedy, also on what and what not to take during the course of treatment. You will be asked to store your remedies away from other harmful strong smelling substances etc.
What Can I expect To Happen?
Responses to the remedies vary from patient to patient. Often there is sense of well being and increased energy, sometimes there is gradual changes over a period of time often subtle changes are forgotten until reminded of at the follow up consultation. Occasionally there is a slight aggravation of the symptoms which is followed by an improvement; this is a positive sign to the homeopath, as the body has been stimulated towards healing itself.
Chronic complaints that have come on slowly usually take longer to heal as can only be expected. Whereas acute problems come on quickly and so they resolve quickly. Sometimes as part of the healing process there is a discharge, like a runny nose or increased perspiration, heightened emotions or vivid dreams. This is all part of the cleansing action. This can be prolonged if there has been a history of steroids etc.
So Far So Good – What Happens Next?
There are as many responses to homeopathic treatment as there are people. Here at East Bay Homeopathy we are qualified and skilled at monitoring your response and able to evaluate your progress. Subsequent treatment is determined by your response to the remedy. Therefore it is of great value to remain in close contact with your homeopath to ensure continuing improvement of your health. In chronic cases, be patient. For any deep healing to take place it can sometimes be a slow process.
What Is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is an effective scientific form of medicine that originated in Germany. It was developed by Dr Samuel Hahnemann about 250 years ago and is now successfully practiced world wide. The World Health Organization has stated that Homeopathy is now the second most used medicine in the world today. Dr Hahnemann found, through personal experience, trials and keen observation, that substances which produce certain symptoms when taken by a healthy person, were capable of removing those same symptoms in an ill person. He observed that these substances increased in effectiveness when diluted and succussed [shaken]. Homeopathic remedies stimulate and assist the body’s own natural ability to heal its self. Because the emphasis is on the whole person, mental, emotional and physical, the effect is an overall elevation of health, vitality and wellbeing. Homeopathy recognizes that health is not merely the absence of unpleasant symptoms; it is an inherent feeling of aliveness and potential. Therefore, homeopathy can be beneficial to anyone who feels that their quality of life is hampered in any way.

Homeopath Leigh Marsh studied with the Auckland College of Classical Homeopathy. First completing the full 4 year Diploma course then going on to complete the 3 year Advanced Diploma course making 7 years of training, which also included on top of this over 200 hours training in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology with its relationship to homeopathy, to gain entry for registration. Leigh also undertakes mentoring of distant students overseas and in New Zealand. Because Homeopathy is gaining so much popularity as a branch of medicine in its own right, Leigh undertakes to keep up with world class practices by updating his knowledge, going to many seminars by expert overseas practitioners.
