Neuromuscular Therapy
What is Neuromuscular Therapy?
Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) is an advanced form of massage therapy that looks at the cause of the pain, not just the symptoms. NMT uses selected deeper tissue techniques to shut down active trigger points, realign muscle fibres, increase flexibility, Myofacial Release (connective tissue) and increase overall well-being.
If pain is encroaching on your daily life, then you may need more specific work, and NMT may be just the thing for you. It doesn’t have to be chronic pain patterns, for example, have you ever suffered from any of the following:- Pain or discomfort that arcs over your head and behind one eye?
- Trouble turning your head to back the car?
- Pins and needles in your fingers hanging out washing?
- Is it getting harder to balance on one foot when you put on your trousers etc?
- Did you used to feel more flexible and pain free?
What kind of things can NMT help with?
Neuromuscular Therapy has been found to aid in the following:- Athletic and sports injuries
- Back pain, spasms
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Facial and jaw pain
- Headaches/ migraines
- Low back pain, hip pain and sciatica
- Fibromyalgia / chronic fatigue syndrome
