"Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans" are the words from a John Lennon song. We all wish for a happy and fulfilling life and there are many events that occur which prevent us from achieving this. The people I see are chosing to do something different with their lives. Often this can simply be validation that what is happening, how they are feeling or what they believe is ok and normal.
My role as a psychotherapist is to assist people find the answers hidden within them as they journey on in life. Comments include a fear that what someone is experiencing is insignificant and others answer an internal call to find out more about who they are and where they are going. I have worked in private practice and the mental health sector for many years so my experience and understanding of counselling is extensive.
