We specialise in natural fertility solutions and offer natural fertility consultations and education sessions. Which are helpful if you’re hoping to conceive or are interested in drug free contraception.
We provide various speciality treatments including acupuncture, tui na (therapeutic and relaxation massage), cupping and moxa-bustion. Some of the conditions that we treat are pain relief, injury rehabilitation, female disorders, male and female fertility, insomnia, depression, relaxation.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient system of healing and has been continuously refined during its 4,500 year history it balances the body, mind and spirit. Acupuncture originated in the far East and is now also currently gaining popularity and widely practiced in the West.
Acupuncture is one of the main components of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) a complete medical system able to treat dis-ease in its many forms. Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years and its effectiveness has allowed it to grow into one of the most popular and widely used systems of healing throughout the world today.
Very fine sterile stainless needles are inserted into the body at carefully selected points to stimulate the body’s own healing processes. The philosophy behind the treatment is that these points are areas of the body that have high electrical conductivity, and lie on the pairs of channels that cover the body and through which “qi” (pronounced “chee”) flows. TCM likens these channels to the rivers of China, which provide communication and a nourishment system for the whole body.
Natural Fertility
A natural fertility consultation will help you with understanding your own fertility and recognising ovulation. It can help you to get pregnant faster if you’re trying to conceive and enables you to develop your own personal fertility chart and ovulation calculator. These consultations will also help you define your fertile stage if you have irregular periods / cycles and can also be used for natural drug free contraception.
Involves three consultations providing individuals and couples with the natural and scientific knowledge that the sympto-thermal method provides. Lifestyle and thorough pre conception care advice is provided, enabling clients to fully understand their own and their partners fertility. This empowers and enables our clients to understand their own fertility awareness and maximise their chances of successfully conceiving. The information gained through using the sympto-thermal method is often helpful should future medical intervention be required.
Cupping
Cupping can be used for many various treatments such as weight loss, infertility, injury rehabilitation, relaxation, detox, pain relief, common cold and depression.
Cupping is a traditional pain free Chinese therapy where glass cups are applied to the skin to create a mild suction which promotes blood and lymph flow. Cupping removes stagnation in the body and opens meridians to ensure free flowing qi. It is also helpful to revitalise organs and meridians that may not be performing at their best.
Massage
Tuina massage is a special massage that can be used for relaxation, injury recovery and as a remedial massage treatment alongside acupuncture.
Tuina (pronounced “tway na”) is an integral part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) therapy, treatment and philosophy. It has been developed over several thousand years to create a highly effective and non invasive treatment tool to regulate and energise the body. Tuina comprises of various manipulation techniques such as stretching, lifting, pushing, stroking and acupressure which is renowned for its relaxing and powerfully energising effects.
Moxabustion
Moxabustion or moxa is a Chinese herb that is burnt by the acupuncturist over the acupuncture points. It is a useful and effective treatment that is often used alongside acupuncture, cupping and tuina massage.
Moxabustion is a relaxing external therapeutic method that uses the burning of specific herbs over the acupuncture point or the affected area in order to produce a warm / hot stimulation to the patient. This heat acts on the acupuncture point and is conducted through the channel so that the balance of the body can be adjusted. Moxabustion is often used in conjunction with acupuncture providing an added relaxing sensation as it gently warms the needle and further enhances an effective treatment.

Justin Dwen is an ACC registered acupuncturist holding a New Zealand Degree in Health and Science majoring in Acupuncture. Justin is an accredited natural fertility educator, holds a Diploma of Chinese Massage and a Certificate of Fitness Management. He is currently the secretary of the New Zealand Chinese Medicine Acupuncture Society and a council member of the World Federation of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Justin gained an interest in holistic health through witnessing his father’s natural recovery from a life threatening terminal condition. As an acupuncturist working within the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) model, Justin applies these ancient techniques to complement our modern lifestyle. Justin appreciates the TCM model’s consistency, with particular regard to the diagnosis and treatment principles that have been developed over thousands of years. He sees true value and is passionate about working alongside conventional medicine and treating the root cause of dis-ease. Justin specialises in fertility and pre and post natal care.
