Sandra is a Grandmother, Mother, Nurse, Cranio-Sacral, EAV and LifeWave Practitioner.
Like a lot of Health Practitioners, Sandra became involved in Alternative or Complementary therapies due to personal health challenges in her own life, which had been unable to be resolved through traditional health practices. Sandra's nursing training was brought to an end when painful legs and feet meant she could no longer walk comfortably around the wards.
Fortunately Sandra was offered part time work for the Christchurch Nursing Bureau working privately in homes and hospitals, dealing with one-on-one special care cases, which she was able to manage. Sandra worked on and off for the Bureau for many years during which time she married and had 2 daughters. The problems that had ended her nursing days continued and despite 30+ years of looking for a solution, Sandra was gradually getting worse. Not only were her legs, feet, back and neck causing pain, but she lived with headaches, migraines and digestive problems.
When Sandra's girls were in their early teens, they, as a family were all laid low with ME/ CFS/ Tapanui Flu. Newspaper articles, radio interviews and TV coverage made the public very aware of this mystery illness and for months following the publicity, Sandra's phone rang with stories of others, that were ill and there seemed to be no help other than antidepressants!! Which she might add, they never took. Sandra decided to organise a meeting for all of those that had phoned, and written. Sandra invited several Drs. from Dunedin Hospital who had been making statements about the 'mystery virus' including Dr. Campbell Murdoch, to come and share their knowledge with them all.
Sandra thought they would get 35-40 people there. Over 400 arrived!! Weather wise the night was terrible. The fog was so thick they couldn't see the car in front of them, but they were all so desperate for information that they came and it was a very successful meeting. Very little was known at that time, but the group were left with no doubt that Dr. Murdoch and his colleages had taken them seriously, and they felt that if anyone was going to support them, they were. The ME Support Group was formed following that meeting, and it was during this time that Sandra became aware of alternative treatments.
Sandra was introduced to EAV (electro acupuncture according to Voll) testing by Dr.Matt Tizard, and following their sessions and the subsequent homeopathic treatment their health started to improve. Sandra's desire to own her own EAV system started with that first visit to Auckland.
Then came a revelation where Sandra developed an understanding of how dramatically foods affected the body as a whole. She then spent many of the following years working with the ME sufferers developing elimination diets for them and holding meetings alternate Saturdays where they could discuss foods, how to avoid some, use others, challenge some etc, it was endless.
Whilst vastly improved, some of Sandra's problems persisted, indicating an underlying issue had yet to be discovered. Fortunately for her, at this stage, she was introduced to a Physiotherapist in Queenstown who was trained in CranioSacral Therapy. Sandra could not believe that something so gentle could make such an enormous change to her health. After only four appointments spread over the next two months, Sandra was well enough to attend the next CranioSacral Therapy training course held in Dunedin and Sandra has since been working as a CranioSacral Therapy practitioner full time, from 1998, and in 2004 was able to introduce an EAV System into her practice. This has proven to be one of the best decisions Sandra has ever made.
Recently Sandra was introduced to the Lifewave patches which she saw as a perfect compliment to her practice. They have exceeded her expectations and remarkable results have been and are daily achieved through the use of these. With a constantly developing and expanding range, Sandra is delighted to be part of this exciting new technology.
And so at this stage......2010......how is Sandra's health??
Sandra now does not ever have sore feet or legs, her back and neck problems have gone, and she no longer has headaches at all, and recently Sandra has been able to add to this list that she no longer has ANY food sensitivities. Can you imagine how that feels?
