Anne Harvey Lifework – Teaching from Experience
Anne teaches reality parenting because she has been there. As a business woman raising four boys Anne soon realised the management skills she utilised in her business were readily applicable at home as her boisterous boys became tumultuous teenagers. Diplomas in Education and Life Coaching supported her new strategies and now real-life professional development for parents is happening in kiwi kitchens all around the country.
Based in Nelson, Anne Harvey is a Facilitator, Business Mentor, Life Coach and Company Director who has successfully raised four sons while owning and operating her own business. In 2004 she received the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award for Service; she holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education; is a qualified Life Coach, and is currently studying towards a Degree in Adult Learning through Massey University. While running courses for parents and working as a personal Lifecoach, Anne also finds time to serve as a mentor for the Nelson Tasman Business Trust. Anne has one son still living at home while the other three have successfully flown the coop and while she continues to find success in her chosen field she still sees raising four happy boys and staying happy herself to be by far her greatest achievement.
Anne is available for speaking at conferences and gatherings in Nelson/Marlborough and through-out the country. You can enquire here >

Mothers Raising Boys
It's a well-known phenomenon - chatty boys can and do, turn into grunting teens overnight. So why do parents, and especially mothers, often overreact to this inevitable event and how do they keep the communication open when the old ways no longer work?
Whether they're raising boys with a father in the home or not, mothers of teenagers inevitably face the challenge of letting go with confidence. As a mother of four boys herself, Anne Harvey is familiar with the anxiety, frustration and fear that many mothers experience during their son's teenage years. Anne shares proven techniques and strategies that allow mothers to feel more at ease with their son's teenage personality and more willing to take a backseat as he develops greater independence, stronger opinions and a social life outside the home.
Mothers Raising Boys Workshops run as a series of two-hour evening sessions over 4 weeks. They combine fun, compassion, honesty and insight to challenge existing thinking and equip mothers with the confidence and ability to navigate their son's teenage years with understanding, objectivity and respect. |
Topics include:- Setting boundaries
- Recognizing developmental changes and stages
- Loving him
- Communicating in new ways
