Traditional Chinese Medicine
Acupuncture from the Oriental energetic medicine context:
Holistic acupuncture addresses the underlying energetic disharmony of ill health, promoting the person’s (spirit, mind, body) vital life force healing to take place rather than treating only the signs and symptoms of the disease
Five Element and Traditional Acupuncture
The Five Element style of acupuncture focuses on the spiritual energistic aspect of health while the traditional Eight Principle method focuses on the physical-physiological aspect of energy. Both have the holistic focus of the Oriental energetic medicine system.
Oriental medicine is concerned with the Tao (the universal energy) from which all existence begins. The yin and yang arising from Tao is followed by the Five Element and later the Eight Principle methods.
Both methods allow flexibility and give scope to address the underlying energetic disharmony of ill health.
Acupuncture from the Oriental energetic medicine context: Holistic acupuncture addresses the underlying energetic disharmony of ill health, promoting the person’s (spirit, mind, body) vital life force healing to take place rather than treating only the signs and symptoms of the disease.
The Tao manifests as two complementary principles: Heaven(yang) and the Earth (yin) which give birth to "the ten thousand things.".These two flow,as manifest energy or Qi in a ceaseless circle on all levels of life. The human Mind, Body and Spirit are an intimate part of this process.
Energy or Qi/Chi in its various forms circulates through the body in Five Phases or Elements . If the Elements are not in harmony various problems- mental, physical, emotional and spiritual-arise.
Traditional Chinese Medicine has a variety of ways of restoring balance and harmony but the most important is acupuncture, which focusses directly on the body's energy system.
Energy flows from the Organ Cexxxs through the meridians and the practititioner can diagnose imbalances through subtle signs shown in the voice, skin ,smell, tongue, taste and colour preferences, general appearance of the body and by complex pulse reading .
As Qi moves in cycles further diagnosis can be made in relation to the time of day and seasons

I practise the Five Element and Eight Principle traditional acupuncture, both of which offer me flexibility and scope to address the underlying energetic disharmony of health problems. Acupuncture is a challenging and educational journey, which I find enjoyable, satisfying and rewarding.
My primary interest is in the area of healing relationship problems, family and interpersonal, arising from stress, emotional blockages, and the traumas of the past to restore balance of health so that people may live more full and happy lives.
