In Chinese Medicine we look at 'patterns of disharmony', this the Chinese Medical language for diagnosing the signs and symptoms people present with. We use a detailed intake of information to differentiate and diagnose which patterns are relevant to the individual, from there a treatment plan is formulated around and includes the following;- Dietary & nutritional suggestions based on your diagnosis
- Acupuncture and TCM techniques (moxabustion, massage)
- Stretching and exercise
- Relaxation, Qi Gong, meditation, visualisation when appropriate

What does ACC cover?
If you have sustained an injury due to an unfortunate event you are likely to be covered for, Bruises, Sprains, Strains, Breaks, Fractures, Stings, Bites, Contusions (cuts), Tears, Dislocations, Herniations... Depending on the severity, you may need to get some assistance in the recovery process. The number of treatments available range from injury to injury
How and when to claim
When you have sustained an injury, the first step is to get treatment and or advice as soon as possible. Waiting to see if its going to get better is ok, however mostly people need to get some assistance on their journey to recovery.
Getting ACC cover is simple, visit your G.P, Physiotherapist, Chiropractor or Osteopath, they will assess your injury. You and the practitioner will fill out a claim form (ACC 45) at the time of consultation, the claim is then lodged with ACC. You will be given a referral or a copy of the ACC 45 form you fill out. You take this to your registered or recommended ACC treatment provider.

What are the costs?
ACC will cover the bulk of the treatment cost; at Nikau Room i operate a sliding scale re cost.
ACC patients accept that if ACC does not cover the treatment cost that the patient will pay for the treatment provided.
