Our warm friendly yoga room is supported by a team of teachers creating a haven for those seeking the many beneficial effects of yoga. We are equipped with props to support our poses and promote relaxation in the mind and vitality and strength in the body.
Albany Yoga Room
WE believe that absolutely everyone CAN benefit from yoga.
For this reason we want every single student who comes to the Albany Yoga Room to feel comfortable and relaxed in our classes.
We discourage our students from comparing themselves to others. We encourage you to accept both your strengths and your weaknesses, and using THAT as your starting point, to make steady progress. The benefits of yoga are so wide-ranging, and are available to EVERYONE – so don’t get in your own way by expecting too much of yourself or expecting results overnight.
It is also our belief that the cost of classes should not come in the way of a dedicated student. So whilst we trust that all students who can afford to pay will do so, we are happy to offer financial assistance to those who are feeling the pinch due to the current recession. Students who can’t afford the full price of the classes may join us on a donation basis – just give what you can afford on the day. So if you need to take advantage of this offer please just ask.
WE believe that yoga is a personal practice within a supported class and so we encourage you to work at your own level.
Our classes are designed to slowly build your strength and fitness levels as well as your flexibility. You will learn to relax deeply - not just your body but your mind as well. This is essential in today's stressful world.
We have many different types of classes at the Albany Yoga Room including :
- Regular yoga for Beginners and for more experienced students
- Pregnancy Yoga
- Over-50's classes
- Mums and Babies Courses
- Restorative Yoga (deep relaxation classes)
We also feel that learning meditation is important so free meditation sessions are offered after certain classes.
Many students find that as a result of their yoga they begin to sleep much better.
They also often find that a host of problems such as backache or joint pain, headaches and low energy levels all improve substantially.

Which class will suit you?
Looking for a great yoga class on Auckland's North Shore?
Choose from our timetable below.
But first, a few things you may like to know..................
Beginners are welcome in all special classes (Restorative, Over 50's, Pregnancy, Mums & Babies and Yin) You may also attend General classes if the Beginner times don't suit you.
And likewise, more experienced students are warmly welcomed into Beginner classes if you enjoy taking a step backwards and working more slowly into your practice in order perhaps to experience a deeper connection.
No need to book for any classes except Over-50's Intro and Mums & Babies
If you'd like a little taste of MEDITATION come to our 9.30am Monday class or our Sunday class. We offer a short guided meditation immediately AFTER those classes for students who would like to stay.
