Counselling, therapy and STI Blood Testing
Timothy offers a prompt, professional, and confidential service to individuals from the age of 12 upwards, and to all kinds of couples and families. Timothy is available to see patients and clients either at his Hastings consulting rooms, centrally located in the CBD. Timothy is also able to offer free, confidential and rapid testing (results in less than 30 minutes) for HIV, Hepatitus C and Syphilis. This free service, providing rapid 30 minute testing for the HIV Virus, the Hepatitis C Virus and the bacterial infection Syphilis is available on a Wednesday by appointment. DNA paternity testing is also available..
The Counselling Practice
Timothy individual, couple and families counselling, therapy, work place and clinical supervision on a wide range of issues.
Areas of particular interest and expertise for Timothy include:-
- palliative care
- grief, loss, suicide and bereavement
- coping with pain
- helping with cancer
- sex and sexuality including sex therapy for heterosexual (straight), bisexual and homosexual
- (gay) individuals and couples
- counselling for Sex problems
- relationship problems including trust, intimacy, affairs and love
- transgender
- poor general mental health including anxiety and depression
Timothy also provides clinical and work place supervision for individuals and couples.
Charges
Consultations cost $120 per 50 minute session.
If you are registered with a GP within Hawkes Bay, you may qualify for some free counselling under the Hawkes Bay PHO Mental Heath Initiative, which offers limited free counselling for patients diagnosed with mild to moderate depression and anxiety. Please contact Timothy for more details.
If you are a married, same sex or de facto couple you may access 6 sessions of free relationship counselling offered through the Family Court. The family court also offer up to 6 sessions of free counselling if you want to talk about issues relating to the care and welfare of your children. In the first instance please telephone Timothy for more information.
Although the service is managed by the Family Court, parties using this free counselling service do not normally have any other contact with the court – there are no lawyers, judges or anything else associated with the legal system!

Timothy is fully insured, and abides by the Codes of Ethics; a Framework for Ethical Practice, published by the New Zealand Association of Counsellors, of which he is a full member.
