Osteopathy Osteopathy is a gentle medical modality which focuses on the diagnosis and the treatment of issues that are connected to functioning, mechanics and posture. An in-depth understanding and knowledge of the function and structure of the human musculoskeletal system allows the Osteopath to highlight the faults that occur as a result of mechanical stress or injury and to treat not simply the symptoms, but also the underlying causes of the issue. This allows the body to restore its normal function. An accurate diagnosis is the prerequisite of successful treatment. A diagnosis is reached by taking a detailed medial history, followed by a thorough physical examination. The clients posture, the way in which they move and any exaggeration or restriction of movement are assessed and observed. If necessary, tests such as Xrays or any other pathological investigations may be advised. Treatments are always based on the individual and specific needs of each client.
