A holistic perspective.

Our philosophy is that the myriad of health problems plaguing modern society
result from weaknesses in the body's physiological foundations brought on by poor nutrition.

The NTA was incorporated as a vocational nutrition school in Olympia, Washington, USA in 1997 with the primary goal of training health care practitioners in the practice of Nutritional Therapy. Originally a program designed for licensed medical practitioners, the NTA trained thousands of medical doctors, chiropractors, acupuncturists and naturopaths throughout the United States and Europe. The NTA was encouraged to make this unique nutritional training available to a wider audience, and today has trained more than 3000 Nutritional Therapy Practitioners from all over the world. The Nutritional Therapy Association is now pleased to offer its Nutritional Therapy Practitioner program to Australia and New Zealand. NTA’s training programs are based on an Ancestral foundational approach to nutrition, emphasizing the perspectives of, and maintain allegiances to, the teachings of Dr. Weston A. Price and Dr. Francis M. Pottenger, two of the greatest scientific minds ever to research nutrition, food, and its effects on modern society. Their work is the basis for NTA’s core belief in properly prepared, nutrient dense whole foods diet to include the foundations of health: Digestion, Blood Sugar Regulation, Essential Fatty Acid Balance, Mineral Balance, and Hydration. The Nutritional Therapy Association has a fundamental belief in bio-individuality and how our genetic and geographical makeup can determine our unique nutritional needs. Through the Nutritional Therapy Practitioner program our students learn to recognize and respect our client’s bio individuality and the innate intelligence of their bodies through the Functional Evaluation techniques and Lingual Neuro testing. The Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP)program is very well suited to anyone in the Health and Wellness field or with a passion for nutrition and can elevate any organization to the next level. The course is a 2 year program that has been condensed into a 1 academic year online hybrid program with 3 in person workshop components. The NTP program is the only Functional and Ancestral based Nutritional Therapy program in Australia/New Zealand which is recognized internationally by The International Institute of Complementary Natural Therapists, National Association of Nutrition Professionals and The Australian Committee of Natural Therapies.
Philosophy The Nutritional Therapy Association was founded with the philosophy that the health problems of modern society are the result of poor nutritional foundations that do not support good health. NTA is an educational organization dedicated to helping healthcare professionals understand and reverse the ill effects of the modern diet. NTA members have access to a wide range of educational tools and a national network of practitioners in the healing arts.
Mission Statement Nutritional Therapy Association, Inc.® (NTA) is committed to helping Healthcare Professionals reverse the ill effects of the modern diet. We are guided by:
  • A profound respect for the teachings of the nutritional pioneers.
  • A commitment to the concept of biochemical individuality.
  • The belief that within each of us lies an innate intelligence that will guide us.

Study nutrition online The course requires 15-20 hours of intensive study per week through viewing and listening to prerecorded lectures, required reading, written assignments and online classes. You'll be required to attend three live weekend workshops to learn functional evaluation techniques.
Prerequisites The Nutritional Therapy Practitioner™ (NTP) course is suitable for both non-professionals with an active interest in nutrition as well as practicing professionals. The only prerequisite is a high school education. Students must have access to high-speed internet and be comfortable working in an online environment, as a majority of the coursework will be done online. You must also be able to attend the three workshop weekends held throughout the course year. Dates are listed below.
What can I do with my NTP Certification? Our 3000+ graduates have changed the lives of millions of people. Some use their certification to start a business as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner or use it to enhance their current licensure. NTPs will often work alongside a medical doctor or licensed practitioner, providing the support that time-poor practitioners would like to be able to give to their patients.
What is an NTP? A Nutritional Therapy Practitioner™ (NTP) is a paraprofessional certified by the Nutritional Therapy Association, Inc.®, trained to evaluate a client's nutritional needs, support normal function, and identify nutritional deficiencies. An NTP is not trained to provide medical diagnosis, to prescribe or treat any medical or pathological condition, illness, injury or disease, and is not a replacement for a medical doctor.
